<h2>Activity Agreement North Lanarkshire</h2>
<p><u>What is an Activity Agreement? <br />
</u>The Activity Agreement is an exciting new opportunity for young people aged 16-19 in North Lanarkshire who have left school and are not currently involved in education, employment, training or volunteering. <br />
<br />
It offers you the chance to get involved in a personal programme of learning and activity from a wide range of fun and challenging options. Your Agreement could include everything from music and arts to sport and outdoor activities. You can also take part in group activities with other local participants and get involved in community projects.&nbsp;<br />

You can find out more about the Activity Agreement by speaking to your Careers Advisor (Skills Development Scotland), Job Centre Advisor, Routes to Work Key Worker, teacher, youth worker and lots of other advisors based in your area.&nbsp;<br />

<p>Get Ready For Work is the National Training Programme for 16-18 year olds who require additional support to access the labour market. It is a vocational programme and involves local work tasters or placements, combined with personal and core skills development and support.</p>

<p class="boldtext">Support Employment</p>
<p>Support employment aims to deliver a football based programme that has produced dramatic results in helping those furthest from the labour market back into work or education. The project develops key soft skills relevant to both the labour market and the development of the individual in an enjoyable, healthy and motivating setting. These courses are based at the stadiums of professional football clubs in North Lanarkshire.<br />

The programme includes: team working, personal motivation, job search, setting goals, learning about health, communication skills, supporting others, personal ambition, and increased self-awareness.</p>

<p>Based in The Regeneration Centre in Craigneuk,&nbsp;Action Plan Plus offers support to anyone&nbsp;in the Craigneuk, Wishaw and the surrounding areas of Shieldmuir, Muirhouse, Cleland, Pather, Wishawhill and Gowkthrapple who is looking for a job or training opportunity.&nbsp;Support includes&nbsp;- Job search, CV's, Stationery, access to job papers, Stamps, help completing application forms and short pre vocational taster courses.</p>

<h2 class="boldtext">Construction Training in North Lanarkshire</h2>
<p><span class="boldtext">2nd Chance Apprentice Programme &ndash;</span></p>
<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt" dir="ltr" class="MsoBodyText" align="left">North Lanarkshire Council&rsquo;s 2nd Chance Apprenticeship Programme has been developed to address skills shortages in construction and to train young people, 18-24 years of age, in trades that are experiencing shortages.The programme targets these younger adults because they have slipped through the net or missed the boat first time around.&nbsp; The strength of this particular age group is that they are prepared to work hard for the opportunity and they also have some work experience to bring to the job; they also realise it is their last chance for a sustainable job &amp; career in construction. (Depending on age, experience &amp; trade, some trainees can complete their apprenticeship in 2 years)</p>

<p><span class="boldtext">New Futures</span> <br />
<br />
<span class="bodytxt">This service is aimed at individuals aged 16+ who have failed to engage with mainstream training or education opportunities because of their disadvantaged backgrounds and chaotic lifestyles. The service works with people on a one-to-one basis, providing an integrated, flexible programme based on an assessment of need. Suitable personal development opportunities are identified and the service is delivered at a pace that suits the client.</span></p>
<p><span class="boldtext">Progress2Work/Progress2Work link-up</span><br />
<br />
<span class="bodytxt">Progress2Work is a Jobcentre Plus initiative designed to support people with a history of drugs misuse who are disadvantaged in the labour market to take-up and remain engaged in mainstream employment provision and to secure and sustain jobs. Progress2Work link-up is a similar initiative but targets people who are homeless, have an offending background or a problem with alcohol. Apex is the largest provider in Scotland, working in partnership with Phoenix House.<br />

<p><span class="boldtext">Teen Start Project</span>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The Teen Start Project will support young adults who have learning disabilities and who are currently in education to increase their career opportunities by gaining part time jobs whilst still at school/college.</p>
<p>The project is open to young adults with learning disabilities who:</p>
<ul>
    <li>
    <div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt" class="MsoNormal">reside in North Lanarkshire</div>
    </li>
    <li>
    <div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt" class="MsoNormal">are currently in education</div>
    </li>
    <li>
    <div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt" class="MsoNormal">are aged between 16 &ndash; 19 years</div>
    </li>
    <li>
    <div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt" class="MsoNormal">want to work in a part time paid job whilst still at school/college</div>
    </li>
    <li>
    <div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt" class="MsoNormal">want to work 16 hours or more on leaving school/college</div>
    </li>
    <li>
    <div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt" class="MsoNormal">require minimal job coach support</div>
    </li>
    <li>
    <div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt" class="MsoNormal">have full support of family/carers in being involved with the project and in working part time</div>
    </li>

    <div style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt" class="MsoNormal">are able to travel independently to and from their part time job or have a sound transport arrangement plan with family members.&nbsp; Access to Work may be available</div>

<h2>&nbsp;Bellshill and Mossend YMCA</h2>
<p>The project will aim to engage young people who are not already engaged in further education, employment and training through Street Work and Drop In style interventions.&nbsp;<br />

Street work phase will operate throughout the duration of the project and will engage with the hardest to reach young people on the streets within the area. This will operate two nights per week and clients engaged through this process will be encouraged to access the range of services and interventions available through the Drop In phase.<br />

<p>Street League's mission is to engage with adults and young people in a structured sport and education programme that helps build confidence, improve health, extend social networks, and develop skills, qualificationsand goals for moving towards and into employment, education and training.</p>
<p>Weekly training sessions lead into a monthly competitive tournament. Overall Street League will deliver eight, two hour training sessions per week with an additional half day allocated to the monthly tournament.</p>
<p>Street League offer progression from their Street Sports model through their Directions 2 Work programme which covers the following:</p>
